Alaska – the perfect multi-generational cruise!

Have you considered Alaska for a family vacation? My husband and I and our two boys took a “Celebrity” cruise in July 2007 to Alaska from beautiful Vancouver, B.C., Canada – where we were joined by my parents, and my brother & his wife. There are several options for cruises to Alaska – but our particular cruise took the inside passage and included stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Icy Strait Point, and the magnificent Hubbard Glacier.
The best part was that there was “something for everyone” – my parents enjoyed leisurely strolls in the shops in places like Ketchikan, as well as games on board, and of course the incredible entertainment each evening. My brother & his wife enjoyed both kayaking and whale watching excursions – and got some amazing photos of wildlife. Our eldest son took a helicopter ride which landed on the glacier – and the younger one enjoyed socializing onboard with activities such as ‘polar bear swimming’ and karaoke in the evenings with new found friends! My husband enjoyed the time at sea to totally relax. My favorite part I think was when we connected all together each evening to recap on our days activities over an amazing meal…the food of course was “to die for”, and the service was exceptional.
Personally – I plan to visit Alaska again – and next time would like to include a land tour to see even more of this spectacular state. Give me a call (336-790-8911) if you would like some information on the new Cruise Planners “cruise & land packages” - Alaskan cruise season is May through September, and now is the time to book!
